Cricket Australia unveils action-packed 2026-27 home series

The Australian men’s cricket team is heading towards a packed schedule. Cricket Australia (CA) will arrange back-to-back bilateral series at their home to host a couple of Test series, an ODI, and a T20I series.

The condensed home season in 2026-27 will start with a 2-match Test series with Bangladesh. Against Bangladesh, Australia will play the 1st Test from August 13 at the Marrara Stadium in Darwin, and the second Test will be from August 22 in Mackay.

A couple of months later, England will tour the land of Kangaroos to play a 3-match ODI series followed by a 5-match T20I contest. The AUS vs ENG white-ball series will commence from November 13 and conclude on December 2.

After the conclusion of the series against England, Australia will start preparations to take on New Zealand for a 4-match Test series, starting from December 9.

The home series is going to be very crucial for the Aussies as they had a quite disappointing outing in the T20 World Cup 2026, which was held in India and Australia. Hit by multiple injury blows, the team went on to play in the flagship competition and was eliminated from the tournament before reaching the Super 8. The Australian cricket team's performance from the group stage naturally came as a shock. In the Tests, they also had a setback. In the Final of the previous edition of the World Test Championship (WTC), they were defeated by Temba Bavuma's South Africa.

The upcoming multi-format series will be important for the team as they will be eager to regain their momentum in every single format. The ODI matches will act as the stage for preparations for the ICC ODI World Cup, which will be held in 2027. After the disappointing run in the T20 World Cup 2026, the ODI World Cup can be their platform for redemption.
