Bruce Willis is one of the greatest movie stars of all time. If he was in it, people went to see it—no questions asked. Willis—who was born in Germany and raised in New Jersey—delivered unforgettable performances in classics like Die Hard, Pulp Fiction and The Sixth Sense. He even crushed it in comedy, too, winning an Emmy for a guest-starring role on Friends. Sadly, in 2022, he stepped away from acting after being diagnosed with aphasia, which later progressed to frontotemporal dementia. But with his loving family by his side, Willis is still smiling—and his movies will forever make us smile, too.
Fun fact: Before becoming one of Hollywood's biggest stars, Willis worked as a private investigator and a bartender in New York City. His big break came in 1985 when he was cast opposite Cybill Shepherd in the TV series Moonlighting.

From Fatal Attraction and Dangerous Liaisons to The Wife and her Tony-winning turn in Sunset Boulevard, she has graced screens for over four decades. And she's not slowing down anytime soon—she'll star in the upcoming film adaptation of The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping, out November 20, 2026.

Ruth Pointer has a lot to celebrate—she turns 80 today! As the eldest member of The Pointer Sisters, she helped create some of the biggest hits of the '70s and '80s—including "I'm So Excited" and "Jump (For My Love)." With the passing of her sisters June, Bonnie and Anita, Ruth is now the only surviving member of the group. However, as seen in the photo above, she honors their legacy by continuing to tour with her daughter Issa and granddaughter Sadako.
Fun fact: Ruth and her sisters were the first Black female group to perform at the Grand Ole Opry in 1974. The following year, The Pointer Sisters won the Grammy for their song "Fairytale," and became the only Black women to ever win in the country category—a barrier-breaking moment that surely paved the way for Beyoncé's Cowboy Carter 50 years later.

Fun fact: As a kid growing up in Covington, Louisiana, Vonn once joined a neighborhood search party for escaped monkeys—a story so absurd it sounds like one of his bits, but it's completely true.
