Game day, Bulls fans—the Toronto Raptors are in town.
Last night, the Milwaukee Bucks lost their matchup against the Cleveland Cavaliers and now have the same record as the Chicago Bulls. If Chicago wins tonight, which they’ll definitely try to do, the Bucks will overtake them in the lottery odds and continue to hurt Chicago’s chances at landing a top pick.
Let’s talk Bulls basketball.
© Matt Marton-Imagn Images We’re still a ways away from the 2026 NBA offseason, but for most teams, that’s already what they’re looking forward to. Bleacher Report put out an article titled “The Perfect 2026 Offseason Trade for Every NBA Team,” and Greg Swartz included two trades involving Chicago. The first trade is Yves Missi for three second-round picks. As much as I would love for this to happen, I think it would take a lot more for New Orleans to let go of a 21-year-old big. If the price tag were that low, he’d probably already be on the team, considering how many times the Bulls reportedly called and asked about him. He’d be a great big to add to this young, building core, but I don’t see New Orleans loving that return, no matter how many minutes his departure would open up for Derik Queen. The second trade is with the Atlanta Hawks, where the Chicago Bulls give up Tre Jones and two second-round picks for former first overall pick Zaccharie Risacher. If the Bulls have any chance to pull this off, they should. Yes, the runner-up for Rookie of the Year last season hasn’t had the perfect start to his NBA career, but he wasn’t picked first overall for no reason. The 20-year-old, 6’8″ French forward would fit right into Chicago’s young core, and his value is at an all-time low. With the Hawks potentially moving away from the Trae Young era and Nickeil Alexander-Walker stepping into the starting five, they’ll need a reliable backup point guard—and Tre Jones is a great option. Not to forget, the Bulls have started to fall in love with their French forwards. Their draft pick from this season, for example, Noa Essengue, had been ruled out for the year after undergoing left shoulder surgery. There is an update on him, too. A real update, not like the ones the Bulls gave on Jaden Ivey and Anfernee Simons. According to K.C. Johnson, Essengue got in shooting work and a full non-contact workout after Bulls practice yesterday. No, this doesn’t mean he’ll be returning this season, but barring any setbacks, he should be ready before the 2026–27 season tips off, adding another piece to Chicago’s growing foundation of youth.Noa Essengue getting in shooting and full, non-contact workout in after Bulls practice today.
— K.C. Johnson (@KCJHoop) March 17, 2026 Around the NBA, former Chicago Bull Alex Caruso was grabbing all the attention for his defense. That shouldn’t be surprising for an All-NBA defender, right? Well, he blocked Tristan Da Silva’s shot with his shoe. Yeah, definitely not legal, but somehow still on brand for OKC’s eccentric defense. Unfortunately, he couldn’t get away with it, picking up a technical foul, but also a viral clip for his efforts.Alex Caruso went for the shoe block pic.twitter.com/0vtZKJqVJj
— Underdog NBA (@UnderdogNBA) March 18, 2026 Down in the G League, Mac McClung can’t stop dominating and stacking accolades. He was named G League Player of the Week after putting up some straight-up video game numbers. He averaged 38 points and 12 assists while shooting 50% from the field and 41% from beyond the arc. The Windy City Bulls have an MVP on their hands, and he could climb to No. 2 on the all-time scoring list this week. A huge accomplishment, and somehow, it still hasn’t been enough for the Bulls to give him real run.Mac McClung continues to stack up awards! ?The @chicagobulls Two-Way signee has been named G League Player of the Week after putting up 38.3 PPG and 12.3 APG with a career-high 54-point game for the @windycitybulls. pic.twitter.com/Gvt67zuuG6
