A tie has occurred for the 7th time in Oscars history!
During the 98th Academy Awards on Sunday, Mar. 15, a rare tie occurred in the Best Live Action Short Film category between The Singers and Two People Exchanging Saliva.
Ties only occur when nominees receive the exact same number of votes. The Academy does not have a tiebreaker system in place, however, the Academy and accounting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers told The Wrap that the Oscars would use tiebreakers to determine a single Best Picture winner if needed.
