NEW YORK — Emilia Mullerman, a musician who began her career in Rochester, is set to make her Carnegie Hall debut on Tuesday night.
Born in Ukraine, Mullerman came to the U.S. to study at the Eastman School of Music and graduated in 2025. Mullerman credits the Rochester community and her performances at the Rochester Fringe Festival for helping her develop her artistic style. She spoke with News10NBC’s Emily Putnam about her journey.
“Rochester will always stay a very special place for me, especially as a Ukrainian immigrant that immigrated to start a new life,” Mullerman said.
She recently won first place in the Golden Classical Music Awards, which earned her the opportunity to perform a solo classical piano concert at Carnegie Hall. Mullerman shared her passion for incorporating her heritage into her music.
“I perform a lot of my own arrangements, my own arrangements of famous Ukrainian songs,” she said. “I always put it in my program, for me it’s always been meaningful to share my story, my heritage through music.”
Described as a “piano diva,” Mullerman is known for putting a modern spin on classic songs with her fashion and artistic style. She is currently pursuing her master’s degree at the Manhattan School of Music. You can follow her journey on social media here.
