The Royal Ballet and Opera had a response for the actor that they shared in a statement with The Hollywood Reporter. They explained that ballet and opera never "existed in isolation" and have worked to inspire and elevate other art forms.
"Their influence can be felt across theatre, film, contemporary music, fashion, and beyond. For centuries, these disciplines have shaped the way artists create, and audiences experience culture, and today millions of people around the world continue to enjoy and engage with them," they added.

Grammy-winning American opera singer Isabel Leonard said she was shocked over the actor's comments, and how Chalamet, who is "so seemingly successful, can be so ineloquent and narrow-minded in his views about art." Especially when being an actor is considered an art form, she adds.
Leonard was not alone in her statement, with Irish opera singer Seán Teste calling opera and ballet a "living" art form that is constantly "reinterpreted" and "constantly evolving." He even goes on to say that it has survived wars, and "to call these art forms irrelevant says far less about the art itself than it does about how little time someone has spent truly experiencing it."
Chalamet has yet to publicly comment on the statements made by the Royal Ballet and Opera, and others.
