When you start daydreaming about spring break, your mind probably jumps to beaches, palm trees and somewhere with a frozen drink in hand. Waco, Texas? Maybe not the first place on the list. But leave it to Joanna Gaines to make a pretty convincing case for a spring getaway that involves crafting, good food and a whole lot of small-town charm.
Every year, Spring at the Silos turns the grounds of Magnolia Market at the Silos into a cheerful hub of hands-on fun throughout March and April. We're talking free activities that feel straight out of your favorite cozy DIY daydream: seasonal crafts, lawn games, live music and plenty of spots to just hang out and soak up the atmosphere.

Spring at the Silos (nicknamed SPATS for short) includes both free events and ticketed opportunities that run from Thursday through Sunday every week for 8 weeks. This year it's happening from March 6 - April 25.
The free activities include things like enjoying live music on the lawn in front of the Silos courtesy of a number of different acts, as well as story time and discovery tables with the Cameron Park Zoo for kiddos. Here's a little peek at what the event looked like last year.
@magnoliaImagine: more flowers, more food, and even more to enjoy. There’s a full season to discover coming up this spring at the Silos from March 6–April 26, 2025. #VisitMagnolia

For example, there's a whimsical Garden Fairy Workshop for $45 per person that runs about an hour and provides everything you need to bring the project to life. Meanwhile a Spring Water Color Workshop ($65 per ticket) will help you bring out your inner artist.

Do the Magnolia Silos Host Other Events?
It sure does. Around the winter holidays you'll find Christmas at the Silos and in October it hosts Silobration, which celebrates the anniversary of Magnolia Market's grand opening. But, really, you can enjoy the area year-round with plenty of great shopping and eateries. If you want the whole Gaines Waco experiences, you can even stay at Hotel 1928, which is owned by the couple.
Because, yes, while Joanna and Chip are always hard at work on new renovation and TV projects, they're running a host of different businesses at the same time. Almost makes you wonder when they have time to kick back and relax.
