ROCHESTER, N.Y. – We’re still talking about a fairly impressive warmup on the way, but it won’t all come at once. You’ll have to be a little patient! A quasi-stationary front will be meandering near our area into the weekend, allowing some milder air to work in at times, but also some chillier air at times. Wednesday will see improving weather, with some sun making a return, along with temperatures in the 40s for most. We may hang onto the 30s closer to the Lake Ontario shoreline. Thursday starts off dry, but we’ll see a round of rain returning later in the afternoon and evening.
Any lingering showers exit on Friday morning, and some milder air will slowly begin to move in, pushing us into the upper 40s and 50s. Then our first surge of warmer air looks like it’ll arrive to kick off the weekend. Highs on Saturday are expected to make it into the upper 60s, with some areas into the 70s. The record high for Saturday’s date is 68 degrees. But we’ll see some rain developing with that warmer air as the front sags back to our south. This will set the stage for a somewhat cooler but dry day on Sunday with some sun.
Then our warmest air will begin to work in for parts of next week. Monday looks nice, with highs in the upper 50s. Tuesday should surge well into the 60s, with our warmest air likely Tuesday or Wednesday. Either of those days could make it well into the 70s if everything works out perfectly. The record high for Tuesday is 68 degrees, and the record high for Wednesday sits at 71 degrees. Either one of those days could also break or tie the record high. But we’ll likely come crashing back down by the end of next week, with a return to more wintry conditions.
