The Colorado High School Activities Association released Class 1A-4A boys and girls basketball state tournament brackets Sunday.
Twenty-one local teams will be in action when the postseasons for those classifications kick off this weekend.
The 5A and 6A postseasons began this past week.
In the lower classifications, the top eight seeds — as determined by the CHSAA Seeding and Selection Index — will play host to four-team regionals this weekend. Whichever team emerges from each of those regionals moves on to the Round of 8 at various neutral locations — the Denver Coliseum (4A), the University of Denver (3A), Colorado State University (2A) and the University of Northern Colorado’s Bank of Colorado Arena (1A).
University (19-4), the defending 4A girls basketball champion, is the 32-team brackets No. 1 overall seed. The Bulldogs play host to No. 32 St. Mary’s Academy (8-14) at 5 p.m. with the winner advancing to face No. 16 Delta (13-10) or No. 17 Eagle Ridge Academy (16-7) in the regional final at 1 p.m. Saturday.
Eaton (12-11) is the 13th seed in the 4A girls bracket. The Reds will play in Holy Family’s regional and will face No. 20 Coal Ridge (15-8) at 3 p.m. Friday with the winner meeting fourth-seeded Holy Family (15-8) or No. 29 DSST: Conservatory Green (12-6) in the regional final at 1 p.m. Saturday.

Defending 3A girls champion Resurrection Christian (16-7) is the seventh seed in this year’s playoffs. The Cougars play host to No. 26 Peyton (13-10) at 2:30 p.m. Friday with the winner facing No. 10 North Fork (20-3) or No. 23 Brush (13-10) in the regional final at 12:30 p.m. Saturday.
Platte Valley (12-11), the 3A girls 20th seed, will face No. 13 Forge Christian (15-8) at 6:45 p.m. Friday at Centauri High School in La Jara. The winner meets fourth-seeded Centauri (19-4) or No. 29 Liberty Common (8-15) at 1 p.m. Saturday.
Highland (12-11), seeded 21st in the 3A girls bracket, matches up with No. 12 Meeker (17-5) at 6:30 p.m. Friday in Salida. The winner plays No. 5 Salida (20-3) or No. 28 SkyView Academy (13-10) at 11 a.m. Saturday.
Windsor Charter Academy (9-14) is seeded 32nd in the 3A girls bracket. The Firebirds take on regional host, Denver Christian (22-1), the bracket’s No. 1 overall seed, at 6 p.m. Friday. The winner advances to play No. 16 Wray (13-10) or No. 17 Addenbrooke Classical Academy (19-4) at 4 p.m. Saturday.

As the seventh seed in the 1A girls bracket, Prairie (17-6) will play host to No. 26 Cheyenne Wells (7-16) at 3 p.m. Thursday with the winner facing No. 10 Springfield (18-5) or No. 23 Cotopaxi (13-9) at 5 p.m. Friday.
Briggsdale’s girls (17-6) are seeded 11th. They will take on No. 22 Creede (14-8) at noon Friday in Nucla for the chance to face No. 6 Nucla (21-2) or No. 27 De Beque (8-13) in the regional final at 11 a.m. Saturday.
Eaton (18-5) is the seventh seed in the 4A boys bracket, and it will host its regional, which will feature a familiar foe. The Reds take on No. 26 Pagosa Springs (11-11) at 5 p.m. Friday with the winner meeting 10th-seeded University (16-7) or No. 23 The Academy (14-9) in the regional final at 1 p.m. Saturday.
The Bulldogs and the Wildcats face each other at 7 p.m. Friday.
Fort Lupton (17-6) is the 13th-seeded 4A boys team. The Bluedevils will match up with No. 20 Fort Morgan (15-8) at 6 p.m. Friday in the Lamar Community Building. The winner meets No. 4 Lamar (20-3) or No. 29 Jefferson Academy (12-11) in the regional final at 1:30 p.m. Saturday.
