Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi was furious over Pakistan star pacer and son-in-law Shaheen Afridi for inconsistent bowling performance in the T20 World Cup 2026. Afridi lashed out with attacking words against Shaheen during a television programme.

In their finals Super 8 match, which was a must-win match for the team, Pakistan registered the required win against Sri Lanka, but crashed out of the tournament for a low Net Run Rate.

The former also expressed his dissatisfaction over Shadab Khan, as he got a total of 118 runs and took five wickets in seven matches— a below-par performance on a flagship event.
"The head coach is giving Shadab chance after chance. That’s why I said Shadab can become the next Pakistan captain. But looking at his recent performance, he doesn’t even deserve a place in the playing XI", Shahid Afridi also said.
