We have finally reached a Blackhawks game day, folks! After three weeks of Olympics, NHL games have returned and the Hawks start a unique four-game trip before the NHL Trade Deadline with a trip to Nashville to face the Predators.
Steven Stamkos was hot before the break, and Nashville still has their eyes on a wild card spot in a Central Division that’s got three teams that appear to be locked into top seeds. The Blackhawks are looking to develop more winning habits and drive home the culture for the future — while also playing to win games now. But… the trade deadline will keep our eyes on the “asset management” part of the lineup decisions on the trip.
Let’s play hockey! The Blackhawks have a game!

n/aWhat to Watch For
We’re officially in hug watch season, folks. How the Blackhawks deploy the guys who might not be here for the next home game — which is after the trade deadline — is going to be interesting on the trip. Bedard is back taking faceoffs after the break, which means Nazar moves back to the 2C spot. Greene will be with Bedard and Moore with Nazar so the Hawks still have options at the dot if someone gets tossed. Head coach Jeff Blashill said they aren’t too worried about Teräväinen’s minutes because he skated more than anyone else during the break (he was at the Olympics). But he’s lined up to start on the fourth line — for now. It’s just good to have Blackhawks back on the ice for a game!Get Caught Up
Jeff Blashill today: "Asset management isn’t something we’ll worry about right now… That’s up to Kyle and his management group. We’re going to play to win tomorrow and play the guys we feel give us the best chance to win."
