A woman was found dead near a hotel and strip mall in suburban Elk Grove Village early in the morning Wednesday, prompting a police response as an investigation continues.
About 4:18 a.m., Elk Grove Village Police and Fire responded to the 2400 block of Landmeier Road for reports of an unresponsive person outside a business. When officers arrived, they found a deceased woman.
In a Community Notification posted to Facebook, officials said the Police Department Investigations Section, along with the Major Crimes Assistance Team, were actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
“Preliminary information indicates that this appears to be an isolated event and there is no known threat to the community,” police said.
