ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Rochester police officers were involved in a stolen car chase early Saturday morning, leading to a 17-year-old facing charges.
Around 2:30 a.m., officers said they were investigating a stolen car report, finding the car on Miller Street near Clifford Avenue with the suspect in the driver’s seat. When the officers attempted to arrest the suspect, police told us he drove away, nearly hitting an officer.
The pursuit was on, going through multiple city streets, when officers decided to stop the chase. Not long after, police said additional investigative efforts were used, leading to officers finding the suspect within minutes of the initial chase ending.
The 17-year-old Rochester male was found; police say he will face criminal charges. The car was recovered by police.
