Winter Junior qualifier Ella Dziobak has committed to swim for Purdue University beginning in the fall of 2026. She confirmed the news in an email to SwimSwam, writing:
I’m beyond excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at Purdue University! I would like to thank my family, friends, teammates, and coaches for their support throughout this process. Thank you to my parents and Coach Vince for their guidance throughout this journey, as well as God for giving me the gifts and abilities to pursue this lifelong dream. The Michigan native is currently a senior at Divine Child High School, where she has been a member of her school’s varsity swimming and diving team all four years. In addition to competing for the Falcons, she trains year-round with Drop Aquatics, primarily specializing in distance free, butterfly, and IM.
On the high school scene, Dziobak is the four-time defending champion in the Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) in the 500 free, and this past December added the 200 free title to her resume after placing second as a freshman, third as a sophomore, and second again as a junior. This past season, she touched in a season-best 1:51.10 to win the 200 by over three seconds, then won the 500 in her current lifetime best by nearly 15 seconds.
Dziobak is also a two-time Winter Juniors qualifier, and this past December placed 43rd in the 1650 free (17:11.17) and 57th in the 400 IM (4:26.61) with season bests, as well as 83rd in the 500 free (5:01.33). She fared a bit better in 2024, touching 29th in the mile (17:06.05), 57th in the 200 fly (2:03.98), and 79th in the 500 free (5:00.00), all personal bests, with the mile and 200 fly still standing as her current PBs.
Beyond major meets, the MCSA Senior Cup was Dziobak’s other standout meet this past year. She won the 1000 free (10:20.91) and podiumed in the 200 free (1:50.74), 500 free (5:02.97), and 400 IM (4:23.12), with her 200 free and 400 IM times remaining her current bests.
On the long course side, Dziobak competed at the 2025 Speedo Sectionals in Columbus, where she clocked a string of personal best performances. She placed third in the 400 IM (4:59.57), sixth in the 400 free (4:24.15), seventh in the 800 free (9:07.25), and eighth in the 1500 free (17:54.04), setting lifetime bests in all events but the 1500.

To earn a second swim, it took times of 2:00.07 in the 200 fly, 4:16.94 in the 400 IM, and 1:47.41, 4:50.23, and 17:10.60 in the freestyles, putting Dziobak in scoring position in the mile.
On the team’s projected 2026-27 depth chart, with fellow recruits and graduations factored in, Dziobak is projected to rank second in the 400 IM, fourth in the mile, sixth in the 200 fly and 500 free, and eighth in the 200 free, setting her up to be an immediate, versatile contributor in dual meets.
Set to join Dziobak in West Lafayette this fall are Alayna Riggins (sprint free/fly), Alexis Peltcs (breast/IM), Caroline Mallard (sprint free/fly), and Mackenzie Britt (distance free), who should all make for strong training partners over the next four years.
