    Stanford’s Lucy Bell and Virginia’s Aimee Canny moved up the all-time rankings in the women’s 200 breaststroke. Bell won the ACC title in a 2:02.57 to become the #4 performer all-time while Canny was 2nd in a 2:02.97 to sit at #5.

    Bell entered the day with a lifetime best 2:03.72 that she swam in January during a dual meet. That had her sit as the #8 performer all-time.

    Canny’s swim was a huge lifetime best as her previous best was a 2:06.54 also from a dual meet in January. That time had sat outside of the top 25 performers all-time.

    The two will enter next month’s NCAA Championships as favorites and look to another showdown. Bell will look to defend her title as she won in a 2:04.28 last year. Canny also was in last year’s ‘A’ final as she swam a 2:07.41 for 7th.
