Actor Eric Dane has died following a battle with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis). He was 53.
Dane found mainstream success after he joined the cast of the beloved medical drama Grey's Anatomy during its second season, which premiered in 2006. In a June 2024 interview on Live with Kelly and Mark, Dane shared that he had "seen a few episodes" of Grey's Anatomy, but wasn't an active viewer. He said that his daughters, Billie, 15, and Georgia, 14, whom he had with his ex-wife, Rebecca Gayheart, were fans of the show.
"They've watched everything," said Dane in the 2024 interview.
He then explained his reasoning for not watching the show, which is currently in its 22nd season.
"I was kind of there when it happened, so my attitude was like I don't want to see it because then you start looking at things you shouldn't be looking at. And the experience for me was in the act of," said the actor.
Dane shared he appreciated his time starring in Grey's Anatomy in a 2022 interview on The Jess Cagle Show.
"It was fun, you know, I love all those people dearly," said Dane in the interview.
