Former The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Brandi Glanville can finally find some peace after learning what caused her troubling facial disfigurement.
Speaking to TMZ on Feb. 18, the reality star revealed that her facial parasite was the result of her 20-year-old breast implants rupturing and leaking silicone into her lymph nodes, clogging them.
“I definitely had a parasite, I was shocked because I’ve had [my implants] for 20 years — almost,” she shared, adding, "They looked fine, they felt fine, the mammogram said they were fine, it wasn’t until I had a sonogram. I was just feeling like you should check that too, why not? I’ve checked everything else."
Glanville told the outlet that she had "checked everything else," had visited "21 doctors," and had "spent so much money" to finally get the answers she was looking for after battling with her facial infection for two years.
The reality star appeared both positive and relieved to finally have clarity despite her ongoing battle, which she called a "hard lesson."
“You really should change your breast implants every ten years, and I just didn’t do it," she said. "I thought, if it's not broke dont fix it, but I learnt a really, really hard lesson."
Glanville also shared that she now has a plan to move forward with treatment that includes "lasers and different things" to help repair her face after having her implants removed. Still, she admitted the emotional toll has been difficult, adding, "It just sucks to age 20 years overnight."
According to People, Glanville initially believed that she contracted a parasite while shooting Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip in Morocco in 2023. She later shared that she could see the "parasite" moving in her face.
