Claire Brown, Briggsdale girls basketball
Brown, a senior, contributed in a variety of ways to the Falcons’ lopsided 53-10 road win against Elbert on Feb. 9. She had a game-high 18 points on 9-of-13 shooting along with seven rebounds, seven assists, six steals and two blocked shots.

Kugler, a junior, was an all-around force in the Mustangs’ defensive-minded 37-28 road win against Caliche on Feb. 10. She had 17 points on 8-of-17 shooting to go with 11 rebounds, six steals and three blocked shots.
Dayton Long, Windsor Charter boys basketball
Long, a junior, was on fire in Windsor Charter’s 73-43 home win against Highland on Feb. 10. He scored a game-high 32 points.
Courtney Steinkamp, Eaton girls basketball
Steinkamp, a junior, had a big double-double in the Reds’ 57-26 road win against Weld Central on Friday. She scored 29 points to go with 13 rebounds and seven steals.

Sylvere, a senior, lit up the scoreboard in the Wildcats’ 54-36 road win against Wellington on Feb. 10. He had a season-high 29 points on 8-of-15 shooting to go with a pair of steals.
Kyla Lin Hollier, Roosevelt girls basketball
Hollier, a senior, put up some jaw-dropping numbers as the Rough Riders went 3-0 this past week with wins against Glenwood Springs (61-37), Mountain View (71-21) and Severance (62-56). In the three games, she averaged 33.7 points per game, including a 44-point,17-rebound outing against Severance. She also averaged 13.3 rebounds and 2.3 steals per game.

Trujillo, a senior guard, was highly effective on both ends of the floor in the Bulldogs’ 64-48 home win against rival Eaton on Feb. 10. She had a team-high 22 points on 9-of-16 shooting to go with four assists and four steals.
Key moment
Northridge’s girls basketball team improved to 2-0 against crosstown rival Greeley Central by the most narrow of margins on Friday, defeating the Wildcats 46-44 on the road. As she has done all season, junior Sophia Carbajal led the Grizzlies with 22 points on 7-of-12 shooting to go with 13 rebounds and three blocked shots.

Severance’s boys basketball team extended its lengthy win streak to 10 games with a 62-35 home win against Roosevelt on Thursday. Balance was the name of the game, as four Silver Knights players scored eight or more points, including sophomore Christian Powell, who had 17 points on 8-of-12 shooting to go with four steals and four assists.
