The Alabama Crimson Tide downed the South Carolina Gamecocks 89-75 on Saturday night despite being without the services of forward Taylor Bol Bowen, who missed the contest with a leg injury.
Alabama coach Nate Oats confirmed the injury in his post-game news conference, adding that Bol Bowen has been dealing with the injury since the Crimson Tide lost to Florida 100-77 on Feb. 1. Bol Bowen played only 2 minutes against the Gators, then appeared for 7 minutes against Auburn on Feb. 7 and for 15 minutes against Ole Miss on Feb. 11.
Despite Bol Bowen not playing against the Gamecocks, Oats said he is hopeful the 6-foot-10 junior forward will be able to play Wednesday when Alabama hosts No. 21 Arkansas (7 pm ET, ESPN).
Bol Bowen transferred to Alabama in 2025-26 after two seasons at Florida State. He started 27 games in 2024-25 with 8.0 points and 5.2 rebound per game in Tallahassee. Bowen’s 2025-26 campaign in Tuscaloosa has seen him start 11 games and appear in 20, with 7.2 points and 5.1 rebounds per outing.
Bowen recorded an 11-point, 10-rebound double-double against Texas on Jan. 10. He also scored a season-high 17 points with 9 rebounds against then-No. 5 St. John’s on Nov. 8.
