Benedetta Boscaro has announced her commitment to continue her academic and athletic careers at Virginia Tech beginning in fall 2027.

Boscaro swims for Team Veneto and represents Italy at the international level. This past summer, she represented Italy at the European Junior Championships. There she finished 5th in the 100 backstroke in a lifetime best 1:01.42. She also was highlighted by a gold medal in the girls 4×100 medley relay as she led off Italy’s relay in a 1:01.98.
Later in the summer, Boscaro swam at the World Junior Championships in Romania. There she finished 19th in the 100 back (1:02.16) and 22nd in the 200 back (2:17.15).
Boscaro’s Best LCM Times (With SCY Conversions) Are:
100 back: 1:01.42 (54.25) 200 back: 2:08.11 (1:53.25)The Virginia Tech women finished 9th out of 15 teams at the 2025 ACC Championships and were led by Carmen Weiler Sastre who scored 69 individual points. She notably made the ‘A’ final in both backstroke events, finishing 5th in the 200 back (1:51.60) and 6th in the 100 back (51.09). Weiler Sastre represents Spain at the international level. Boscaro will not overlap with Weiler Sastre as she is currently a senior with the Hokies.
Based on her best converted times, Boscaro is a huge addition to the Hokies come fall 2027. Boscaro’s best converted time in the 200 back would have already made the ACC ‘B’ final. Her best converted time would also have just made the 2025 NCAA Championships as the cutline stood at a 1:53.31 a year ago.
Boscaro will arrive in fall 2027 as a member of the class of 2031 along with Jillian Wiersema, Claire Roussakis, and Margot Levesque.
