It seemed like a love story for the ages. America's "royal" son and literally the country's most eligible bachelor at the time, John F. Kennedy Jr. had fallen in love... with a commoner. Carolyn Bessette didn't come from a royal family or from a political powerhouse. Her father was an architectural engineer turned cabinet maker and her mother was and administrator in the New York City Public School System. She was a beautiful statuesque blonde, shy and seemingly humble and kind. He was clearly enamored of her. The two would date and eventually marry and one would hope the two would live happily ever after and continue on the Kennedy line.
Sadly, that was not meant to be as the two, along with Bessette's sister would die in a plane crash, piloted by John F. Kennedy, Jr. The three were on their way to the wedding of John's cousin, Rory Kennedy.
