Loudness, which was formed in Osaka by guitarist Akira Takasaki and drummer Munetaka Higuchi in 1981, is celebrating 45 years as a band this year, and marking the major milestone by going on a world tour.
Billed as the 45th Anniversary Tour, the Japanese heavy metal band started the series of shows in December 2025, hitting multiple venues around Japan. Each leg is divided into "chapters" — Chapter 1 was called "The Birthday Eve," in honor of their debut album that shares the same title, and lasted from Dec 23 to 29.
Meanwhile, Chapter 2 is set to take place in the United States, starting at [explicit]'s Heroes 2026 in Houston, Texas, from March 19 to 21. They will also be performing in venues in San Antonio, Los Angeles and San Juan Capistrano in March, then embarking on the Monsters of Rock Cruise in mid-April.
In May, "Chapter 3: Loud Crazy Loud" will take the group back to Japan, kicking off at Zepp Fukuoka on May 6 and ending on May 29 at Zepp DiverCity Tokyo. They are also scheduled to perform in multiple Japanese cities, including Ishikawa, Aichi, Hokkaido and Miyagi. Lastly, the fourth chapter is set to take place in Europe, with the band performing at Barcelona Rock Fest and Time to Rock Festival in July.
