Star Duke freshman Cameron Boozer missed layup attempts with 1:10 to play and 15 seconds to go that would have given Duke a lead. The latter play from Boozer came after a Trimble turnover.

North Carolina was outscored by 12 in the first half. Duke opened the game with an 18-5 run to race out on the front foot. Carolina never let go of the rope. The Tar Heels closed the game on a 9-0 run and made each of their final 4 shots. The Tar Heels also held the Blue Devils scoreless over the final 2:51 to snap their 10-game winning streak.
The Tar Heels (19-4, 7-3 ACC) return to Durham on March 7 to face the Blue Devils (21-2, 10-1) in the rematch.
