— LA Bowl (@LABowlGame) February 5, 2026“After five great years, the LA Bowl at SoFI Stadium will no longer be moving forward. It has been an honor for our staff and volunteers to bring college football to one of the world’s greatest venues. We want to thank the athletes and football programs who participated and, most importantly, the college football fans who joined us over these past five seasons,” The statement said.
The last 3 seasons, the LA Bowl was hosted by former NFL tight end Rob Gronkowski. The inaugural game in 2021 was sponsored by comedian Jimmy Kimmel. The Mountain West champion participated in 4 of the 5 matchups, pitted against fellow West Coast programs.
There’s still a pair of bowl games remaining in California despite the news of the LA Bowl ceasing to exist. The Rose Bowl from Pasadena is part of the College Football Playoff rotation. There’s also the Holiday Bowl in San Diego, which takes place at Snapdragon Stadium.
