A photo showing Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor with his arm around Virginia Giuffre – who accused him of sexual abuse – is real, according to an email sent by Ghislaine Maxwell.
The former prince, who has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing, has previously denied meeting Giuffre and suggested the photograph may have been faked.
A draft statement written by Maxwell and sent to Epstein in January 2015 appeared to confirm the photograph of the former duke and Giuffre was authentic.
“In 2001 I was in London when (redacted) met a number of friends of mine including Prince Andrew,” the statement said.
“A photograph was taken as I imagine she wanted to show it to friends and family.”
It follows an email from Epstein which surfaced in November last year, which also appeared to confirm the photograph is real.
In that email the paedophile told a journalist: “Yes she was on my plane, and yes she had her picture taken with Andrew, as many of my employees have.”
Giuffre, who died in 2025 when she took her own life, claimed that Jeffrey Epstein forced her to have sex with the former prince when she was 17.
Mountbatten-Windsor has said he has no recollection of meeting Giuffre and denies all allegations against him.
The family of Giuffre told the BBC’s Newsnight the email showed she had been “vindicated”.
“It truly does vindicate Virginia… she was not lying this entire time”, Guiffre’s brother, Sky Roberts, said.

In her posthumous memoir, Nobody’s Girl: A Memoir of Surviving Abuse and Fighting for Justice, Giuffre said that she was introduced to Mountbatten-Windsor in March 2001 while staying at Maxwell’s house near London’s Hyde Park.
She also wrote that when she met Mountbatten-Windsor, he correctly guessed her age of 17 years.
“’My daughters are just a little younger than you,’ he told me, explaining his accuracy,” the extract says.
In a statement at the time, the former duke repeated that the claims against him were untrue.
The former prince has featured a number of times in the US Department of Justice’s latest document dump – including images of him crouched over an unidentified female.
Legal letters also claim Mountbatten-Windsor and Epstein asked an exotic dancer for a threesome at the late paedophile’s Florida home, offering to pay her and others “10,000 dollars each to perform”.
In the letter, dated 23 March 2011, the woman’s legal representatives accused Andrew and Epstein of having “prevailed upon her to engage in various sex acts” during the alleged encounter in “early 2006”.
Lawyers also claimed the party at Epstein’s West Palm Beach home included women “as young as 14 years old” who were “dressed provocatively”.
The letter said the unnamed woman would be content to keep the alleged encounter confidential “in exchange for a payment of 250,000 dollars”.
Elsewhere in the documents, an apparent friend of Epstein’s told him: “A is sad and frustrated. Considering abdication but he’s like a zoo animal, no way esp (sic) now for him to thrive.”
The email exchange, from May 2011, showed Epstein tell a woman named Melanie there was a “Daily Mail rat” close to the man, believed to be Andrew, that he was unaware of, who “feels underpaid, feels A abusing privilege”.
The i Paper has contacted Mountbatten-Windsor for comment.
