The Midwest emo rock band American Football has just announced a new set of dates for their 2026 tour.
The band took to social media on Tuesday to announce the new tour across North America and Europe and share ticket sale details with their followers. A limited amount of pre-sale and VIP tickets will be available starting Wednesday at 10 a.m. ET and can be accessed on American Football's official website. General ticket sales will begin Friday at 10 a.m. ET.
Supporting American Football on their tour will be indie rocker Mei Semones, English ambient music band Marconi Union, Los Angeles-based musician Ian Sweet and the indie trio Afternoon Bike Ride.
View this post on InstagramAmerican Football was formed in 1997 by childhood friends Mike Kinsella and Steve Holmes alongside drummer and trumpet player Steve Lamos. Their self-titled debut EP was released in 1998, with their self-titled debut album releasing subsequently the following year. The band mutually decided to separate in 2000 as each of the members pursued his own personal goals. But despite having broken up, American Football's fanbase continued to grow, and in 2014 the band reformed with the addition of Nate Kinsella, Mike's cousin, on bass.
Since reforming over 10 years ago, American Football has released two more eponymous albums. Their song "Uncomfortably Numb" from their third album featured vocals from Paramore lead singer Hayley Williams — the first time the band has released a song with a featured artist.
Fans of American Football are excited to see the band return to performing this summer and are eagerly waiting for news of new music as well.
"THANK YOU FOR COMING BACK TO BOISE ???," wrote one fan.
"Ian sweet is awesome. That's gonna be a banger set of shows," wrote another.
