OAKLAND — The death of a woman from traumatic injuries Monday morning near downtown was being investigated as a homicide, authorities said.
No other information about the woman has been released. An autopsy will determine her exact cause of death.
The woman was found at about 11 a.m. Monday at her residence in the 2300 block of San Pablo Avenue, police said. She was pronounced dead at the building.
Police have not yet released a possible motive and have not announced any arrests. The death is the 10th homicide investigated by Oakland police in 2026 and the second within a day. Last year at this time, police had investigated 13 homicides in the city.
