Undeniably Bad! Heat Hold Bulls to their Worst Single-Game Total this Season 134-91 – February 1, 2026

Yuck. That’s really all there is to say about what we just witnessed. The Chicago Bulls posted a season-low point total tonight, the worst offensive showing of their season, putting up season lows in field goal percentage, shots made from the field and behind the arc. There was more garbage time than actual competitive basketball, and that tells you just about everything you need to know.

Jevon Carter must have been the very thin thread holding this Chicago Bulls team together, because the first game after he was cut, the Bulls imploded, offensively and defensively. Maybe that’s a good thing. Embrace the tank. Strip away any remaining hope when you lose by this kind of margin.

And, hopefully, any teams looking to make a move for Coby White or Nikola Vučević before the trade deadline decided to turn a blind eye to whatever that was tonight. Although, the way Chicago was playing, it might’ve been blinding enough already, for basketball purists, at least.

The Moment the Bulls Lost this Game

As soon as the ball was tipped, the Bulls lost this game. A 24–6 start in favor of Miami—honestly, you couldn’t script a worse opening. The Heat had home-court advantage fully activated, shooting 8-for-11 from the field and 4-for-6 from behind the arc, while Chicago looked like they were shooting on a rim with a lid on it. One for eleven from the field. Nine percent. My god.

The Bulls were the poster boys for settling, going 1-for-9 from three. They dug themselves a hole at the first possible opportunity and somehow managed to carry none of the good from last night into today’s game. Fast-break points were something Miami couldn’t defend, so, naturally, Chicago decided not to inconvenience them by attacking where it actually hurt.

You’re supposed to put your best foot forward, your first foot forward. Instead, the Bulls shot themselves in it before they even entered the game. Ending their first quarter with a bigger deficit than points scored. Beep-beep, Chicago, it’s going to be a long night.

    Key Stats and Takeaways

The Bulls’ thirteen-point first quarter was a season low for Chicago. They rested most of their players last night to have fresh legs for tonight, yet the performance was still painfully lethargic.

Bulls post lowest-scoring quarter of season at 13 points. They shot 4-21 with 7 TOs

    — K.C. Johnson (@KCJHoop) February 1, 2026 That trend carried straight into the second quarter. Miami got whatever it wanted—18 assists on its first 21 made shots, with just one turnover. Chicago couldn’t get the offense going and didn’t even pretend to make up for it on the defensive end. The Heat led by as many as 27 points before the Bulls managed to score 27 themselves. The deficit at the half was the largest the Bulls have had this season.

    — Miami HEAT (@MiamiHEAT) February 2, 2026 Yuki was the only bright spot for Chicago in the first half, four points, five assists, and four rebounds with just one turnover. Coming off his debut in the previous win, it looked like he didn’t miss a step at all. I can see Billy giving him more minutes tonight, especially with Tre Jones out. And honestly, if there are jump balls we need to win, he might be the guy for those too.

    Yukimania has 4 assists and 4 rebounds in 10 minutes. Team-best plus-5

    — K.C. Johnson (@KCJHoop) February 1, 2026 The Heat stretched the lead to 54, which should’ve been a message to the league about how this insane scheduling is going to produce some truly ugly performances. I was hoping for a late Bulls comeback, but at the same time, I was already done with what I was watching.

Color me surprised: White, Vucevic and Buzelis start 4th40-point deficit alert t.co/M9Zws4W6Bc

    — K.C. Johnson (@KCJHoop) February 2, 2026 The final score flirted with breaking a few season records; they were on track to put up the fewest points scored by a team and the largest margin of victory. The 2025–26 Bulls clearly wanted to leave a mark this season, and they nearly did it by threatening the worst loss in franchise history. They were so lucky the Heat pulled their starters well before the final buzzer, because if they hadn’t, this could’ve gotten as ugly as it possibly gets. Chicago managed to scrap away a small enough portion of the lead to not see their name in those records.
