This definitive ranking recognizes 300 organizations that are reinventing their industries through bold ideas, cutting-edge products, smarter processes, and cultures that empower creativity.
Following the successful launch of the inaugural list in 2025—featuring innovation leaders such as L’Oréal, Unilever, Rolls-Royce, Philips, and GSK—the 2026 ranking will continue to showcase Europe as a global innovation powerhouse.

How the ranking is built
Statista independently evaluates thousands of European companies with more than 250 employees using a robust, data-driven methodology built on three, equally weighted pillars:
Product InnovationAn assessment of products and services, including design, usability, uniqueness, and market appeal. Scores are informed by IP portfolio analysis as well as feedback from experts and (potential) customers.
Process InnovationAn evaluation of how companies innovate across their operations—from sourcing and production to marketing, sales, and customer support. Insights from employees, industry experts, and customers are incorporated.
Innovation CultureA measure of how effectively companies foster creativity, entrepreneurship, and idea-implementation internally. Employee feedback plays a central role, complemented by perspectives from external experts such as recruiters and HR specialists.
Each pillar accounts for one-third of the total score, ensuring a balanced and comprehensive view of innovation.
