“Won’t you be my neighbor?”
It’s a simple question, but for generations of Americans, it’s one that still hits deep. Nearly 25 years after Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood signed off the air, that familiar melody is back — and this time, it’s coming from Lady Gaga.
On Tuesday, January 27, Rocket and Redfin unveiled a teaser for their upcoming Super Bowl LX commercial featuring the 39-year-old award-winning artist performing “Won’t You Be My Neighbor?” — the beloved theme song from the classic children’s show. The spot marks Redfin’s first-ever appearance in the Super Bowl in the company’s 20-year history and kicks off a larger campaign centered on home, community, and connection.
According to the press release, the commercial is designed as a tribute to Fred Rogers’ message of neighborliness, using music as a “shared emotional language.” The full 60-second ad will debut during the Super Bowl, but the teaser already gives viewers a behind-the-scenes look at Gaga recording the track in the studio.
“This campaign was created with a deep sense of purpose and a belief in what brings people together,” Jonathan Mildenhall, Chief Marketing Officer at Rocket Companies, said in a statement. “America is at its best when we are neighborly, when we look out for one another and feel connected to the people around us.”

Gaga herself spoke directly to the emotional weight of the project, calling Mister Rogers “a heartfelt presence for generations of children and families all over the world.” She added that she was honored to be asked to reimagine the song, noting that she hoped viewers would enjoy the cover as much as she did creating it alongside “fellow musicians and friends Alex Smith and Benjamin Rice.”
Shortly after the teaser dropped, the internet wasted no time reacting.
"Already so obsessed! ? literal chills and tears. Love the message she gives and the message of this song in the current state of the world ?," one person wrote on Reddit.
"Holy f**ing s**t this woman. I can't sometimes with her. My god to control your voice like that is incredibly difficult but of course she f**king nails it," another said.
"THE CROSSOVER OF MY DREAMS OMG," chimed in a third.
Of course, this isn't the first time Gaga has covered a nostalgic classic and left fans in their feelings. The A Star Is Born actress has built something of a reputation for delivering stunning, stripped-down tributes that showcase the powerhouse vocals behind the pop spectacle.

Back in 2015, Gaga stole the show at the Oscars with a breathtaking medley celebrating the 50th anniversary of The Sound of Music. Dressed in a simple white gown, she performed "The Sound of Music," "My Favorite Things," "Edelweiss," and "Climb Ev'ry Mountain" — and received a standing ovation.
Julie Andrews herself came onstage to embrace her, and later told ABC News that while she’d long been a fan, Gaga had become “a very new good friend.”
Just a year later, Gaga delivered what many consider one of the greatest renditions of "The Star-Spangled Banner" in Super Bowl history. Her performance at Super Bowl 50 in 2016 drew immediate comparisons to Whitney Houston's iconic 1991 version.
Then there's her decade-long collaboration with the late Tony Bennett. The unlikely duo recorded two full albums of jazz standards together — Cheek to Cheek in 2014 and Love for Sale in 2021 — both of which won Grammy Awards. Their partnership introduced a new generation of fans to the Great American Songbook while proving Gaga could hold her own alongside one of the greatest vocalists of all time.
She's also paid tribute to her mentor Elton John on multiple occasions, most notably with her 2018 cover of "Your Song" for the tribute album Revamp. That same year, she performed the song live at a Grammy salute to Elton, who called her rendition "absolutely incredible."
