ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Former clinical social worker Sarah-Elizabeth Pilato shared a powerful message of healing with the release of her new book, “The H.U.G. Book.”
The book is designed to support women navigating miscarriage and pregnancy loss. It combines professional insight, lived experiences, and stories from more than 20 women and several men who have endured loss.
“For every woman that feels alone, to literally have a hug,” Pilato said. “She can take the book home, she can literally hug it. But there’s also a part for the husbands, the partners, so that when they go home, this book is laying around, he picks it up, there’s something in there for him too.”
Pilato said the book will be distributed free of charge nationwide to hospitals, clinics, mental health facilities, and other settings where women may be experiencing pregnancy loss.
