Charlie Puth is sharing his two cents on this year's Oscar nominees.
After the list of 2026 Oscar nominations was announced on Thursday, Jan. 22, the popular singer-songwriter took to social media to voice his opinion on two stars he believes were wrongfully left off the list.

In a message posted to X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday, Puth wrote, "Ariana [Grande] and Cynthia [Erivo] not getting nominated for Wicked is such a disappointment."
The two actresses famously starred in Jon M. Chu's Wicked musical movie adaptation, with the second film installment, Wicked: For Good, releasing back in November 2025.
Grande and Erivo both previously earned nominations at the 2025 Oscars for their performances as Glinda and Elphaba in the first Wicked installment—but this year, neither of them made the cut.
In his post on Thursday, Puth added, "I don't watch a lot of movies, but I believe the amazing musicality they both showcased should be acknowledged."

"They were robbed. It's so unfortunate really..." one X user insisted, while others echoed that Grande and Erivo definitely "got snubbed."
Others, however, thought the "Attention" artist missed the mark with his evaluation of who deserved nominations this year.
"It’s an acting award, not a singing award," one user pointed out, while others reminded Puth that the Oscars has two major categories for music-related awards: Best Original Score and Best Original Song. (Wicked: For Good was not nominated in either of those categories either.)
Someone else criticized Puth for admitting, "I don’t watch a lot of movies," before weighing in on the Oscars conversation, writing, "yeah then don’t even give your opinion about this sir. Stick to the Grammys."
Meanwhile, other fans insisted that Puth had a valid point, but that the categories for both Lead Actress and Supporting Actress were just already "packed" with other "deserving" stars.
