ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A new Dr. Seuss-themed Little Library was unveiled at the Hall of Justice in Rochester Wednesday. The ribbon-cutting ceremony took place on the third floor, where Family Court and the Children’s Center are located.

The Little Library operates on a “take a book, share a book” concept, encouraging visitors to take books home. Judge Van White emphasized the importance of reading at a young age.

“This is a good crime prevention tool,” said White. “Not only benefits families and children but also benefits the entire community. We know for a fact crime and illiteracy go hand in hand.”

This is the second community Little Library at the Hall of Justice, and it is free for all visitors.

The Children’s Center at the Hall of Justice recently reopened in December. The aim of the center is to offer families a safe place for kids while parents work on legal matters.
