Ontario County DA’s Office announces addition of four new attorneys ...Middle East

CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. — The Ontario County District Attorney’s Office announced Wednesday it is adding four new attorney’s to the office.

Paul Irving

Paul Irving has more than 30 years of prosecutorial experience, the DA’s office says. Irving has worked for the Monroe County District Attorney’s Office and Monroe County Law Department. His background includes major felony prosecutions, juvenile justice matters, and training prosecutors and investigators at various levels.

Nicholas Line

Nicholas Line comes to the Ontario County DA’s Office from Chemung County, where he served as the Assistant District Attorney. In Chemung, Line prosecuted felony and misdemeanor cases, handled grand jury presentations, conducted jury trials, and participated in appellate advocacy.

Line also was an instructor at the Southern Tier Law Enforcement Academy, teaching criminal law fundamentals to police cadets.

Patrick Russi

Patrick Russi has previously served as an Assistant District Attorney in Monroe County, and also as a Town Justice in the Town of Irondequoit. He has also criminal justice and criminal procedure as an adjunct professor at Monroe Community College and Roberts Wesleyan College.

Kelly Pettrone

Kelly Pettrone has been working with the Monroe County District Attorney’s Office, and has prosecuted vehicular crimes, felony gun and drug cases, and served in the Special Investigations Bureau.

In a press release, DA Jason MacBride said these attorneys “brings a depth of knowledge and perspective that will enhance our work across all courts.”

MacBride was appointed as Acting District Attorney in December. The previous DA, Kelly Wolford, resigned and is now the first assistant district attorney in Seneca County.

On Jan. 15, Sara Van Strydonck was announced as the county’s new Chief Assistant District Attorney. In November, James Nobles was also named as a prosecutor.
