Witch Fever opened up about being “broke” despite being on multiple stops for a UK and Europe tour.
The rising all-female band candidly spoke about the harsh realities of life on the road for musicians.
During their appearance on the 101 Part Time Jobs podcast, members of the Manchester-based punk/grunge band revealed how they struggled financially despite completing the tour with Volbeat as the opening act.
Bassist and backing vocalist Alex Thompson mentioned to host Giles Bidder that they had expected the tour to leave them with a decent “pot of money.”
“We just got off tour with Volbeat,” she said. “We did two months in arenas and stadiums. You know, we played Wembley [Arena]. We got to the end of it, the fees are much nicer than we would have ever been before, really.”

However, the reality hit hard when she revealed that their “profit is all stuck in withholding taxes across Europe.”
At the time, they were also unemployed because they had to quit their jobs to join the tour.
Moreso, lead vocalist Amy Hope Walpole admitted that the situation left them “broke.”
“So we’re broke as f—k and we just did two months in arenas,” the singer confessed, adding, “We also can't get a job because we're back on tour in March, so nowhere will hire us.”

“I'm currently living off four grand of my late mother's pension that I got at the end of last year,” the vocalist shared. “That is obviously rapidly running out. So it's quite a depressing landscape at the moment.”
The band supported Volbeat on their 2025 tour, alongside Bush, performing across Europe from September to October and in the UK throughout November.
Witch Fever is signed under Music For Nations, a subsidiary of Sony Music.

On the other hand, the all-female band is not the only one affected by the struggles in the music industry.
Thrash metal band Anthrax cancelled their European tour in 2022 due to high cost and logistical issues, as well as their European festival appearances in the summer of 2023 for the same issue.
