DXRacer Martian Pro REVIEW A High-Tech Gaming Chair Built for Long-Term Comfort

Electric adjustments, lumbar airbags, and built-in heat make the Martian Pro one of DXRacer’s most advanced chairs yet

So, a little about me. First of all, if you are a long-time follower of MacSources, I apologize for the duplication of backstory, but for those who are just reading this for the first time, I have a bad back. This goes back to my high school days when I marched as a member of the drumline with my high school band. I believe that is where my issues began. That history paired with sitting behind a desk for 8+ hours per day for the past 15 years has ultimately caused me to have some issues with arthritis and sciatica nerve pain.

With the nature of my job being solely located behind a computer screen, I don’t have much of a choice about changing my daily activities, but I do have a choice in chair. One of the things that seems to alleviate my pain is heat through a heating pad or the heated seats in our car. So, when I found that DXRacer had a gaming chair, which is designed for longevity and long-term sitting, that had built-in heat, I decided I had to give it a try.

    About DXRacer Martian Pro

The DXRacer Martian Pro is built for people who spend long hours at their desk and want more control over how their chair supports them throughout the day. Instead of relying only on manual levers and fixed positions, it introduces electric adjustments that let you fine-tune comfort with precision and ease.

At its core, the Martian Pro focuses on active support. The powered backrest and airbag-based lumbar system work together to adapt to your posture, helping maintain proper spinal alignment during extended gaming or work sessions. Integrated comfort features like lumbar massage and a rechargeable battery system add convenience without tying you to a constant power source.

Designed around an XL frame, the chair offers a spacious seat, tall backrest, and a sturdy steel structure that feels solid and stable. Magnetic accessories, 4D armrests, and subtle LED accents round out a design that balances function with a modern, high-end aesthetic.

Whether you are gaming, creating, or working from home, the DXRacer Martian Pro is aimed at users who want a premium seating experience with advanced adjustability and long-term comfort built in.

    User Experience

Assembly was pretty straightforward, especially since I have put together a lot of gaming chairs over the years. The Martian Pro is heavier than most, and the extra step of connecting cables for the electronic features adds a bit more time. That said, DXRacer includes a clear diagram that makes it easy to see where everything plugs in, so the process never felt frustrating.

The charging setup is well done. The port is on the back of the chair, which makes it easy to reach, and the cable is long enough to reach a nearby outlet while I am sitting at my desk. I do wish there was a built-in place to store the cable or a retractable USB-C option, but day-to-day charging is still simple.

Getting used to powered controls took a little time since I am used to mechanical levers. The buttons are easy to reach, but remembering what each one does took a short adjustment period.

Build quality stands out right away. The stitching looks clean, the upholstery feels premium, and the seat and backrest foam still feel supportive with daily use. The base and casters feel especially solid, with a wheelbase that feels more stable than most gaming chairs I have used. Even though the chair is heavy, it rolls smoothly and is easy to move around when needed.

The seat cushion is on the firmer side, which works well for me. If you prefer something softer, adding a cushion might help. My fiancé used the chair during long gaming sessions and found it needs to break in more for him to be comfortable and this will happen over time, but he usually prefers ergonomic mesh chairs, so that was not a big surprise.

Support across my thighs and hips felt even, and I never noticed any pressure points. The backrest provided great support even without turning on the lumbar airbags. The headrest lined up well with my neck, and for reference, I am between 5’8” and 5’9”. The armrests use firmer foam instead of plush padding, but they stayed comfortable during long stretches at my desk.

The footrest is a nice bonus and easy to install, though it is made of hard plastic and could really use some padding. It folds neatly under the chair, but I did notice the chair can rotate a bit while using it unless I am sitting in a very specific position.

The electric backrest moves smoothly and stops right where I want it. The control for the backrest is on the left side, which felt a little odd at first since I am used to right-side controls. Aside from that, everything is easy to reach, the motors are quiet, and performance stayed consistent with repeated use.

The lumbar airbag system has a wide range of adjustment, from flat to very pronounced support. I focused mostly on my lower back, but the system can move up and down to cover a larger area. Being able to adjust both position and intensity made it easy to dial in support for different sitting positions.

Once I found the right setting, I did not need to keep adjusting it unless I changed how I was sitting. Compared to manual lumbar systems, this one was easier to fine-tune and felt more supportive across a wider part of my back.

The massage feature uses preset modes with moderate intensity, which is perfect for me. It delivers gentle pressure that I can use throughout the day without it becoming annoying or distracting. Placement sits just above the hips, which works well, though I would have liked it a little lower.

Heating and ventilation were two of the features that really drew me to this chair. Both are controlled by buttons on the seat. The ventilation is strong and does a great job keeping me cool. The heating function works, but it is on the mild side even at the highest setting. Still, it is much more convenient than dealing with a separate heating pad and cable.

With regular use, charging every couple of days worked best for me. After about a week of not using the chair, the battery was completely drained. Charging from empty took a couple of hours. The chair works normally while plugged in, and all features are available right away once it is connected to power.

The armrests have a wide range of movement and feel secure when fully locked. They can shift a bit if not locked all the way, but once set, they stay put. At around 240 pounds, I felt comfortable in the chair, and my fiancé at 247 pounds was comfortable as well, which says a lot about the XL sizing. Seat height worked well with my desk, and switching between work mode and a reclined position was quick and easy.

The chair is very quiet overall. Aside from a faint hum during adjustments, I did not notice any noise. There was no rattling or creaking, and the LED lighting is subtle enough that it never pulled my attention away.

Whether this chair makes sense long term really comes down to personal preference. My fiancé prefers traditional high-end ergonomic chairs like the Aeron, while I enjoy the structure, features, and overall feel of this style of gaming chair. If you want built-in comfort features and a more immersive seating experience, the Martian Pro delivers.

    Conclusion

After spending extended time with the DXRacer Martian Pro, it is clear that this chair is built for gamers and people who sit for long hours and want more than basic ergonomic support. The powered adjustments, lumbar airbag system, massage, heat, and ventilation all work together to create a chair that feels more adaptive than most gaming or office chairs I have used. It is not perfect, and it will not replace a traditional ergonomic chair for everyone, but for my needs, especially dealing with lower back pain and stiffness, it offers real, day-to-day comfort benefits. If you value adjustability and built-in comfort features and are willing to invest in them, the Martian Pro delivers a very unique seating experience.
