Long Beach’s Marketplace shopping center is about to get a little sweeter with the opening of the health-conscious fast casual chain Sweetgreen, which is slated to make its debut in the city on Tuesday, Jan. 20.
“Long Beach is a community that truly values health, sustainability, and lives the sweetlife. We’re excited to serve fresh, made-from-scratch food and become a part of everyday life here,” said Jonathan Neman, co-founder and CEO of Sweetgreen in a statement.
The new 1,947-square foot space will be 6451 East Pacific Coast Highway with seating for up to 42 diners.
The Long Beach location will include Sweetgreen’s newest launch, the Function Menu, which features options like the Spicy Reset Bowl, Nutrient Power Plate, and the Omega Salad.
The chain was founded in 2007 with a focus on serving fast food made with local farm ingredients. It currently has more than 260 locations nationwide.
In November the chain opened its first drive-thru location with an automated kitchen in Orange County at 280 Bristol St. in Costa Mesa.
