Piers Morgan apparently didn’t feel like Good Morning Britain reported on his recent injury quickly enough, and the TV host playfully called them out in a message on social media.
“I think you guys are missing the big news today @susannareid100 @edballs @GMB,” Morgan, 60, wrote via X alongside a photo he took from his hospital bed on Monday, January 19.

The picture showed a newspaper with a headline detailing Morgan’s fall over the weekend when he broke his leg.
However, it seemingly didn’t take long for Good Morning Britain hosts Susanna Reid and Ed Balls to get the message.
"Not a great morning for our good friend Piers Morgan, although I have to say, he is recovering well in hospital,” Reid, 55, said. "He has a new hip, so good luck with your recovery. I think he's going to be in the hospital for a few days as he recovers.”

— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) January 19, 2026The longtime broadcaster continued, "I did offer to turn up with grapes, but he says he has enough to open a vineyard, so I was rebuffed. There was a restaurant involved and a stumble, and a whole new hip. So get well soon, Piers."
On Sunday, January 18, Morgan said he tripped inside a London hotel restaurant, fractured the neck of his femur and was left “feeling like a sack of spuds,” which ultimately required a new hip and a hospital stay. He added that he’ll be on crutches for six weeks and grounded from long haul flights for 12 weeks but is optimistic about the year ahead.
He also included a snap of the X-ray showing just where the break occurred in the Instagram post.
Morgan’s comments section was quickly flooded with well wishes from colleagues and fans alike.
Martha MacCallum wrote, “Glad to see the thumbs up Piers! Heal quickly you are missed!” while Lorraine Kelly added, “You daft bugger hope you are OK!”
Still, Morgan appeared to be taking the injury in stride, joking in response, “The shame of it all is worse than the pain!”
