Steve Hawk, husband of HGTV star Mina Starsiak Hawk, honored his late sister, Stefanie Hawk, in a social media post.
Entertainment Now reported that on January 17, Hawk honored Stefanie's birthday on Instagram. The publication reported that Hawk's sister died in 2020 from ethanol poisoning.
Hawk's Instagram post featured a picture of his sister happily touching his wife's pregnant stomach. Hawk and Starsiak Hawk are parents to two children, Jack, 7, and Charlotte "Charlie," 6.
In the caption of the post, Hawk wrote, "yesterday my baby sister would have turned 37."
"I made conscience decision to take a moment of gratitude for her love while she was with us and I moved on. I can’t let those things eat at me any longer. So I chose today to post this picture. It’s my favorite picture of her," read the post. "NOTE: when she was a baby she was a fussy sleeper and I would sing her this song and would immediately stop crying, smile, and eventually doze off to sleep. IF you happen to have a Vodka Tonic this evening (I don’t condone) pour a little out for her. She’d like that. Haha."
Starsiak Hawk shared that she appreciated the picture of her sister-in-law in the comments section.
"It’s one of my favorites too But I’m glad to have so many of her smiling and happy that it’s hard to choose from," commented the Good Bones star.
Several social media followers took to the post's comments section to share their support for the Hawks.
"It’s important to remember her and that she was known and loved, especially for your little ones, nephews and nieces etc!!!" wrote a commenter.
"I remember you talking about her on a podcast. I’m so sorry you lost your sister and family. They would be so proud of the person you’ve become!" added another.

Good Bones came to an end in 2023 following its 8th season. While speaking to People magazine in January 2026, Starsiak Hawk said she missed filming the renovation show, minus "the interpersonal issues," seemingly in reference to her shaky dynamic with her co-star and mother, Karen E. Laine.
Starsiak Hawk told the publication that she and Laine currently have an amicable relationship, despite their past issues.
"We were all together for the holidays, so we're all amicable. We're not like best friends that braid each other's hair on Saturday nights or anything, but no, it's good,” said Starsiak Hawk to People.
Starsiak Hawk is making her HGTV comeback for Rock the Block season 7, which should be out later this year.
