STANFORD, Calif. – One game after scoring a season-high 95 points against North Carolina, Stanford was stifled in an 80-50 loss to No. 6 Duke Saturday at Maples Pavilion.
The game matched the top two scorers in the ACC, and two of the top five in the country, in Stanford freshman guard Ebuka Okorie (22.9 points per game) and Duke freshman forward Cameron Boozer (22.8).
But Boozer dominated down low from the start, scoring the game’s first six points on inside moves, while Okorie had two turnovers and a blocked layup.
Boozer wound up outscoring Stanford in the first half on his own (20-19) and finished with 30 points and 14 rebounds. Okorie was held to nine points, his second-lowest total of the season, on 3-of-9 shooting.
The Cardinal (14-5, 3-3 ACC) had beaten top-20 teams Louisville and UNC at Maples earlier this month and had won its last four home games against ranked opponents.
