ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Thursday’s weather in the Rochester area has led to various road conditions for drivers throughout the day. News10NBC went out to several roadways, taking a look at the conditions for commuters.

Road conditions are a concern with every major snow event. NBC’s Erin Mahon was live on Winton Road near 490 in Rochester.
She reported that drivers were going slowly due to the conditions. Flurries didn’t seem to be a factor on the roads. However, snow and ice conditions did impact sidewalks in that area.
She also reported that windy conditions did pick up, blowing snow in the direction of drivers.
Mahon said driving on the way to Winton Road was mostly clear.
She added that conditions were also clear on and near East Avenue, with some slick spots causing issues with braking.

She reported that road conditions were fair. This is in part due to road crews having most of Thursday to maintain clear travel.
She added that various side roads had some snow cover, while neighborhood roads were slushy and messy. Some of the main roads were reported as being better than the side roads, but slick.
It was concluded that the roads were overall not great, but not bad either.
