Things will be plenty loud at Sunday’s game between the Chicago Bears and Los Angeles Rams, and it will all get started with the National Anthem.
As the Bears and Rams prepare to play in a postseason game for the first time in 40 years, the teams and fans at Soldier Field will get to listen to the iconic voice of Jim Cornelison, the long-time National Anthem for the Chicago Blackhawks.
“Bears fans, as loud as you were for opening day this year, as much energy as there was in the stadium, do you think Sunday you will be even louder when we rock the anthem for the Bears vs. Rams game? I bet and I can’t wait,” he said.
Cornelison is well-known for his renditions of the National Anthem at Blackhawks games of course, but he is no stranger to singing the anthem at significant Bears games either, with his performances on the 10th anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks and his rendition at the 2011 NFC Championship Game both drawing rave reviews.
Kickoff between the Bears and Rams is set for 5:30 p.m. Sunday, with the game airing on NBC.
