Those who file for candidacy must register and attend one of the mandatory orientation meetings taking place from Feb. 2-6. The meetings will cover the election timeline, regulations and candidacy requirements, as well as the expectations for certified candidates and their corresponding campaign teams.
On Feb. 16, six days before the election, a sample candidate list will be posted to the SGA Elections website. The official campaign period will begin the same day and end Feb. 23 at 11:59 p.m.
The SGA will also host a candidate forum and presidential debate on Feb. 22, which will give students the opportunity to hear about the candidates and their platforms, as well as their stances on campus issues.
The unofficial results will be posted Feb. 24 at 11:59 p.m. If a runoff is warranted, it will take place two to 10 days after the general election.
Those looking to contest the results of the general election must do so by Feb. 27 at 11:59 p.m. The general election results will then be finalized if no run-offs, open complaints, appeals or contests are made.
The SGA executive council will be inaugurated on April 7.
