ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Rochester Red Wings have announced the third annual Rochester Home Run Derby, which is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 22, at ESL Ballpark. Tickets will be free and can be picked up at any of the Vision Automotive Group locations in the Rochester area.
The derby will happen at 6 p.m.; gates open at 5:30 p.m. The derby itself features high school and college athletes and local celebrities.
“We’re excited to bring the Rochester baseball community together for this event once again this year,” said Dan Mason, the Rochester Red Wings General Manager. “It’s a great way to close out the amateur baseball year and showcase some talent in the local high school and college ranks. Special thanks to the Vision Automotive Group for making this event possible for our community.”
The first 1,000 attendees will get a free hot dog and ice cream sandwich. There will also be free giveaways throughout the evening, including T-shirts, compliments for oil changes, Vision Auto Group lifetime inspection tags, a year of Blizzards from Dairy Queen, a year of free pizza from Salvatore’s, and other Red Wings items.
Damar Hamlin will be at the event; he will host a special meet-and-greet autograph session for fans from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
