After a nearly four-year hiatus, K-pop stars BTS have announced long-awaited return with the biggest tour of their career- and a Chicago stop made the cut.
Live Nation announced Tuesday that the global tour will see the group returning to the stage in 2026 and 2027, featuring more than 70 stops.
The tour kicks off on April 9 with three nights in Goyang, South Korea, but will move to North America by the end of April starting with Florida.
Making the list will be two nights at Chicago’s Soldier Field, slated to take place Aug. 27 and Aug. 28.
Then, the fall will see the group moving to Latin America and Asia.
The tour marks the first performances since BTS’ “Permission to Dance on Stage” tour in 2021-22. Since then, all seven members of BTS — RM, Jin, Jimin, V, Suga, Jung Kook and j-hope — completed South Korea’s mandatory military service.
Last summer, the group teased a world tour and announced that a new album would be released in the spring of 2026. At the time, they said they would begin working on the project in July 2025.
The 2026 album will mark their first since 2022’s anthology, “Proof,” their 2021 Japanese compilation album “BTS, the Best,” and their last studio album, “Be,” released in 2020.
According to the announcement, there will also be a unique element to this tour.
“Notably, the tour will feature a 360-degree, in-the-round stage design. The immersive setup places the audience at the center of the experience while allowing for increased capacity at every venue,” a release from Live Nation stated.
Presale tickets begin on Jan. 22 and general tickets go on sale beginning at 11 a.m. CT on Jan. 24 at LiveNation.com.
