New Delhi will adopt a “people-centric approach” during its presidency of the group, S. Jaishankar has said
India has said its presidency of BRICS 2026 will reflect the need to strengthen capacities, promote innovation, and ensure sustainable development.
New Delhi will seek to bring together the potential of BRICS countries for greater global welfare, Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar said on Tuesday while launching the logo and website of BRICS 2026.
“Our chairship theme – building for resilience, innovation, cooperation and sustainability – reflects our belief that cooperation among BRICS members can help address shared challenges in a balanced and inclusive manner,” he stated.
Jaishankar noted that 2026 marks 20 years since the inception of BRICS, which has steadily evolved into a significant platform for cooperation among emerging markets and developing economies.
