Euphoria season 3 star reveals new episodes will break the mould for television

Colman Domingo has teased what we can expect from Euphoria season 3, and it looks like the upcoming season is more ambitious than ever.

Speaking to Deadline, Domingo said: "We’re gonna have a devastatingly gorgeous, epic season that I think is breaking the mould of television. I think it’s gonna become more cinema than television."

Domingo will return as recovering drug addict and sponsor to Rue Bennett (Zendaya), Ali Muhammad. Ali is set to get more of a backstory this season, with Domingo promising that viewers will "get to look at the building blocks of Ali".

He added: "I think you may get a little bit of his origin story, which I think is great, and so you can understand why Ali is who he is."

Fans will be pleased to know that there’s not long to wait until Euphoria hits our screens again – season 3 will premiere in April 2026.

It’s not yet clear if episodes will land at the same time in the UK as the US, but the HBO Max rollout in the UK and Ireland in March suggests that this could be the case.

Other stars have also hinted at what the new season has to offer. Speaking on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Sydney Sweeney admitted that Cassie is "crazy", adding that in the new season she’s "even worse".

Meanwhile, series creator Sam Levinson spoke at the HBO Max presentation in London in December and revealed (via Variety) that the story picks up five years after season 2.

He said: "We basically pick up Rue south of the border in Mexico, in debt to Laurie [Martha Kelly], trying to come up with some very innovative ways to pay it off."

Responding to circulating rumours about Cassie and Nate’s [Jacob Elordi] controversial relationship, Levinson confirmed that wedding bells are indeed ringing. He added that viewers can expect the pair's wedding to be an "unforgettable night".

He also revealed where we can expect to find the other characters post high school. "Jules [Hunter Schafer] is in art school, very nervous about having a career as a painter and trying to avoid responsibility at all costs. Maddy [Alexa Demie] is working in Hollywood at a talent agency for a manager, she’s obviously got her own side hustles going.

"And Lexi [Maude Apatow] is an assistant to a showrunner played by Sharon Stone, who is just absolutely delightful and a true icon."

In addition to the return of many now-household names, new confirmed cast members include Spanish singer Rosalía as well as YouTuber Trisha Paytas, Poker Face star Natasha Lyonne, Till's Danielle Deadwyler, horror icon Eli Roth and the American football player Marshawn Lynch.
