Recipients of automatic merit and competitive scholarships awarded through Student Financial Aid and Scholarships are required to maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher and earn 67% of their attempted credit hours to remain in good standing. Students who fail to meet the requirements are placed on scholarship warning until the next review. Students still not in good standing following the warning period lose their scholarships.
Students can now be placed on academic warning one semester earlier than they would have before the change.
“Scholarship reviews now take place each semester after grades are finalized to align with the timing of mandatory reviews of federal aid,” said Alex House, associate director of communications for the University. “Earlier intervention provides support opportunities available from the University for students to improve their academics.”
Students placed on scholarship warning will continue will be awarded their scholarship and will receive an email with the terms to maintain their scholarship during the warning period, according to the University’s undergraduate scholarship policies.
