ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Rochester Police Department responded to the 400 block of Child Street on Saturday night after getting a report of an SUV crashing into a home, the driver fleeing the scene before police arrived, officials say.
Police say the accident damaged a fence and the mid-sized SUV. It was reported that the SUV had its front end resting against the home, leaving part of the house also damaged.
The reports suggest that the SUV was heading south on Child Street when the driver lost control, drove through a fence, and hit the house.
RPD said the home did have people inside at the time of the crash, but no one was injured.
The driver left the scene before police arrived, according to RPD.
The SUV has since been towed.
Anyone with information is asked to call 911.
