A Colorado man was sentenced to life in prison this week after a Denver jury convicted him of first-degree murder in a deadly parking lot stabbing in the city’s Central Business District, according to the Denver District Attorney’s Office.
Luvertis Blackwell, 47, was found with stab wounds in a parking lot in the 1500 block of Glenarm Place on Aug. 9, 2024. He was taken to the hospital, where he died from his injuries.

He was found guilty on both charges by a Denver jury on Friday, according to court records.
He was sentenced to life in the Colorado Department of Corrections without the possibility of parole, the mandatory sentence for a first-degree murder conviction under state law.
Schadegg was represented by the Colorado Office of the State Public Defender, which does not comment on criminal cases.
